First day of retirement.

I just got home from work and it is the first official day of my first retirement. My mindset has shifted from the excitement of another adventure to the prudence of proper preparation. All of our belonging are in Erin's Corolla and ready to head east to Colorado tonight. Good thing is, most of my belongings are now other people's property. They took my car, bike, furniture, clothes and some of my toys. In exchange, they have sponsored my trip to SE Asia.

Driving east out of Oregon on Jan. 19th, Erin and I are expecting to stop in Salt Lake City. Then on to Boulder where we will relax with friends and relatives. Even my parents are flying out from Minnesota to get the family back together for the first time in two years! Shortly after they leave, so will Erin and I; On a plane to Los Angeles. We will not be seeing much of California because it's back at LAX two days later. This ride will take us over the Pacific Ocean to Taiwan. Five days later, another plane ride. The flight to Singapore is to be the last one, at least for the foreseeable future. 

Then... Who knows? Erin and I will be playing it by ear. No time limit and no agenda, our only plan is to improvise. We will be living out of backpacks for a while, traveling through SE Asia. Everyone has been incredibly supportive of this adventure, I really appreciate everyone's enthusiasm. So, I will be sharing pictures, videos and news from the road to let you know how things are going. I hope I can generate something interesting enough to enjoy!
